Machine Vision Cost Estimator
Turn architecture decisions into a broad planning envelope for internal budgeting. This is an educational model, not a quote and not a VisionAxiom price list.
Planning envelope (not a quote)
$36,400 – $118,000
Installed cost envelope for one inspection station, U.S. deployment, excluding taxes, travel, spares and recurring support.
Output
- Acquisition hardware (cameras, lenses, cabling)
- $2,400 – $13,000
- optics
- $4,000 – $12,000
- compute
- $3,000 – $9,000
- software
- $8,000 – $25,000
- controls
- $6,000 – $20,000
- mechanical
- $2,000 – $8,000
- validation
- $9,000 – $25,000
Formula
range = camera_count × camera_band + Σ (subsystem_band × optics_scale) ; optics_scale = max(1, cameras × 0.75)
Frequently asked questions
- Why is the range so wide?
- Because installed cost is dominated by integration scope, not hardware. Until the defect, the line speed, the fixture and the acceptance criteria are defined, a narrow number would be false precision.
- Is this a quote?
- No. It is a planning aid for capital conversations. A quote requires samples, line conditions, controls scope and acceptance criteria.
