What inspection applications does VisionAxiom cover?
VisionAxiom engineers machine vision inspection for packaging and labels, printed webs, codes and characters (OCR/OCV and code verification), surface and product defects, and custom high-speed imaging tasks that general-purpose sensors cannot resolve.
Choose the application by the failure mode
Most stalled vision projects were scoped around a device instead of a defect. Before hardware, we write down the defect population: what it looks like, how small it is, how often it occurs, whether it is visible under any single lighting geometry, and what the line does when it is found.
That statement determines resolution, optics, lighting geometry, trigger strategy, and whether rules-based tooling is sufficient or a learned model is justified.
- Packaging & labels — presence, placement, seal integrity, print legibility on films, cartons, pouches and bottles.
- Printed webs — continuous line-scan inspection of repeating print with registration and streak/void defects.
- Codes & characters — OCR, OCV, 1D/2D code read and grade, date and lot verification against the work order.
- Surface & product defects — scratches, dents, contamination, texture and cosmetic classes.
- Custom high-speed imaging — short exposure, strobed, multi-camera or synchronized acquisition problems.

Where another vendor may be the better answer
If the inspection is a single, stable, well-lit measurement on a slow indexed line, a self-contained smart camera from Cognex or KEYENCE is often the lowest-lifecycle-cost answer, and our comparison content says so plainly. Custom engineering earns its keep when the imaging is hard, the defect set is broad, multiple cameras must be synchronized, or the data has to leave the sensor.
